I just signed the settlement paperwork for an Auto claim I had. How long will it take to receive the check?

I signed the settlement paperwork and returned them to my lawyer to pass on to the insurance adjuster. I need to get a sense of a time frame as to how long I can expect to wait before receiving my money.

Ask your lawyer because it's gonna take awhile. FIRST they have to get the check. THEN they have to play with the medical bills and short change your doctors/health insurance company, THEN they have to pay those kick backs to the doctors in on the scam, THEN they have to make sure they have money for YOUR share, THEN they'll call you to come in and sign the check and hand you a seperate check payable just to you. Hopefully you live in a state like CA or NV where the insurance company is required by law to send you a letter stating they have sent the money to your attorney.
