Is Dallas more at risk to Hurricanes than North Carolina? I am trying to decide which of the two to move to?

Another the question is which of the two states Dallas or North Carolina is better choice to move to? Or which one is nicer? I like warm climates but no hurricanes and good tourist attraction sought of place conventions etc..

Due to being so far inland, Dallas doesn't get hit by the hurricanes when they are at full force, however we can be affected by the remnants of the hurricane. Strong winds, flooding, hail and rarely a tornado can be the result of the remnants of a hurricane that hits the Texas coast.
